Estelle Bourdet
Textile designer and hand weaver

“I work between the domestic and the architectural, exploring how function, materiality and space are interconnected. Using traditional weaving techniques, I combine slow craftsmanship with contemporary expressions.

Repurposed materials and a process-oriented approach are central to my work, which is characterized by care, rhythm and circularity.”

Mari Stoknes
Performing Arts and Ceramics

“Fundamental to my work is a desire to create from start to finish, from idea to meeting the audience. This gives me direction and meaning. Themes such as closeness, transparency, curiosity and relationships—with both fellow humans, surroundings and nature—are pervasive in my work. I want to contribute to care and thought for our surroundings, because I believe that we take care of what we love.”

Stein Stoknes
"I love wood. As an architect I have always been involved in developing innovative and sustainable wooden, urban constructions. In my workshop I am at the other end of the scale, trying to exercise woodturning as a meditative practice where tactility, materiality, details and structure are core focus.

I am inspired by both Norwegian formal traditions and Japanese simplicity.»
